My name is Dan. I have decided to start our company’s official newsletter in hopes of strengthening the bonds that keep us together via better communication. This will then contribute to an overall improvement in our work life with Devex.
So what does #TatakDevex mean? I will not be presumptuous and define it myself. Why? Because the hashtag belongs to us all. The better question would be: What does #TatakDevex mean to you?
While you spend a few minutes to ponder on this (and I sincerely hope that you do), I would like to share what #TatakDevex means to me:
Getting things done
When starting a task, I make sure I finish. My mind and my willpower come together to focus on creating an output. If a conflict presents itself, I think of ways to get around it. In the face of problems, I look for the instant solution and the long-term solution. When unsure, I consult with my higher-ups by bringing them my recommendations so that we can work together on a decision. I make sure that I have a complete grasp of how I manage my schedule to make sure that I have enough time and energy to get things done.
Thoroughness
In whatever I do, I make sure that I am fully aware of the details. When working on a plan, I seek out areas where it could go wrong and address them to improve the plan. When creating a report, I seek out the root cause of a problem and then I list down probable solutions. Even when taking down notes in a meeting, I exercise thoroughness by making sure that each note becomes a reminder for me of the next step I should take. I seek to stay away from the “pwede na ‘to” mentality.
Self-improvement
I regularly assess myself for my strengths and weakness. Then, I work on myself. I open up myself to opportunities to improve my skills and my output. I am a Pokemon that keeps on evolving. I am Naruto always looking for a way to use my Rasengan in new ways. I read books. I actively look for learning opportunities. Learning keeps me relevant to my profession. The constant will to realize my full potential drives the quality of my work.
